If you think your identity has been compromised or you are a victim of identity theft you need to act fast to curb the damage…

🕵🏾‍♀️You must report the matter to the South African Police Service (SAPS).

🕵🏾‍♀️The service provider might require you to prove that you didn’t apply for that certain contract but someone impersonated you.

🕵🏾‍♀️Once you have proven your innocence, the credit provider must issue you a letter confirming that you have been the victim of impersonation.

🕵🏾‍♀️Apply for protective registration with Southern African Fraud Prevention Service (SAFPS), registering with SAFPS means that they will enter your details on their database to inform their members (credit providers) that your identity has been compromised and that they should take additional care when confirming your identity.

Always remember to report to SAPS!
